Dallas Cowboys History

By Geoffrey Wooldridge

NFL existent is closely related to the story of its oldest clubs, and Dallas Cowboys history belongs to this story. With a 40-year existence, the Cowboys boast with five victories in the Super Bowls, eighteen victories in the division championship and lots of other successes.

The Cowboys have always been disputed, discussed, admired or criticized by their supporters or detractors. Whichever be the case, the members of the team continue to write the Dallas Cowboys history with every match they play, no matter the public's opinion. No everybody loves the Cowboys, but fortunately, there are very many people who do

Often known as America's Team, the Cowboys have achieved quite a lot to deserve the name. The beginnings of the Dallas Cowboys were not at all smooth and peaceful, on the contrary, there was strong opposition against the Dallas Steers as the team was called back then. And there hasn't been a stop to rivalries since then. The early and mid 60s brought tough challenges and significant events in the Dallas Cowboys history, but they finally started to head for success establishing themselves in the Texas community.

Quarterback Craig Morton led the first Super Bowl appearance of the Cowboys. The popularity of the team continued to grow, and Dallas Cowboys history was now written nationwide. The team welcomed new players and stuff members meant to increase the overall performance. The fresh contribution to the roster became obvious in the success in Super Bowls X and XIII. And by the end of the 70s, the Cowboys were receiving the top NFL qualifications. The 80s had no Super Bowl for the Cowboys, but the victories in the division championships were pretty numerous.

In the 90s Dallas Cowboys history is scattered with injuries, free agency and some disciplinary problems that affected the evolution of the team and its performance during the games. Even so, there was no other NFL team to post as many wins as the Cowboys in the 90s. Cowboys will certainly not give up their reputation without a fight. Any other NFL team aiming to great performance should have the same professional standards, talent and strength to follow aspirations.
