For a long time we have used the video store as one of our main ways to access movies. Instead of buying or renting the dvd, people now can choose a movie download instead. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

Cry the Beloved Country: Easy going back country pastor voyages to Johannesburg looking for his child when destiny links his road with that of a prosperous, bigoted white landowner. This heart rending tale journals the racial divisiveness at its roots in South Africa, without resorting to preaching. Cast includes Canada Lee, Charles Carson, Sidney Poitier, Geoffrey Eager, Reginald Ngeabo, and Joyce Carey. (111 minutes,'51)

The Lost City: Heartfelt try to bring the Guillermo Cabrera children's fable of the'50s Cuban rebellion to life through the tale of one family, a university professor and his 3 sons. One an apolitical cabaret owner, the others fighting for change. Cast includes Andy Garcia, Bill Murray, Tomas Milan, Dustin Hoffman, Danny Pino, and Champ Rivers. (138 minutes, 2006)

Heartbreaker: Chicano Allende falls for WASP Dunlap among an ambiance of custom-fitted cars. Dull self sufficient production is displeasingly devoid of observations into the lifestyle it portrays. Look quick for Patty "Apollonia" Kotero. Cast includes Daybreak Dunlap, Peter Gonzales Falcon, Michael D. Roberts, Miguel Ferrer, Pepe Serna, and Rafael Campos. (90 minutes,'83)

The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the '70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate's gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin's use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present. Cast includes Cast includes Tom Laughlin, Elizabeth James, Jeremy Slate, and William Wellman. (112 minutes,'67)

Alien 3: Ellen Ripley and her surviving friends are flying through space after battling the Aliens. They crash land on a desolate planet that has a prison colony as the inhabitants. Unfortunately, an alien has stowed away on the ship, and is now loose on this new world.

The Peacemaker: A train wreck, with a train loaded with nuclear weapons, in Russia leaves what appears to be a nuclear disaster in its wake. Nuclear expert Dr. Julia Kelly thinks otherwise. She is convinced the explosion was staged, and the nuclear weapons have fallen into dangerous hands. Colonel Devoe agrees, and the two must uncover the conspiracy that has lead to nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands.

Payday: Acerbic, vibrant picture of life on the concert trail with a cocky, selfish country and western music megastar, a jerk who calls on his supervisor to "fix" some complications that crop up during the concert tour. One of those prototypical early1970s films that makes modern American movie theater come across bland. Cast includes Rip Torn, Anna Capri, Cliff Emmich, and Michael C. Gwynne. (103 minutes,'73)

King of Jazz: Million dollar musical revue, shot in 2-color Technicolor format, is filled with bigger-than-life production numbers and remarkable melodies. Highlights contain Walter Lantz's animation pattern, Joe Venuti's swing violin, youthful Bing Crosby with the Tempo Boys, and, obviously, Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" which in early Technicolor is more a rhapsody in turquoise. Cast includes Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra, John Boles, Jeanette Loff, The Tempo Boys Bing Crosby, Al Rinker, and Harry Barris. (93 minutes,'30)

Rockula: Teenage vampire Cameron is powerless to lose his virginity due to an age-old hex. Cast includes Dean Cameron, Tawny Fere, Susan Tyrrell, Bo Diddley, Thomas Dolby, and Toni Basil. (87 minutes,'90)
