Browsing For A Terrific Film? Check Out These Excellent Film Critiques

Now is the greatest point in history to be a movie connoisseur. It used to be that the only means you could see a famous motion picture was to visit the movie theater. Later video stores came on the scene but you had to go over there and many times the films were out of stock. You also needed to be anxious about getting the motion picture back to the store in a timely manner or you had to pay a late fee. Even now when you can get movies in the mail, you still have to wait.

The Indian in the Cupboard - A young man (Scardino) acquires an ancient chest as a birthday present, and finds that when he sets a toy Indian inside and turns the key, the Indian comes to life. Then he sees that the Indian is not a toy, however a genuine human being. Difficulties follow, particularly while his best pal summons to life a toy cowboy. Cast includes Hal Scardino, Lindsay Crouse, Richard Jenkins, Rishi Bhat, and Nestor Serrano. (96 minutes,'95)

Cuba Crossing - Our lead man Stuart Whitman becomes involved in a scheme to take out Fidel Castro. Filmed in Key West, Florida, and at minimum the landscape is beautiful. Cast includes Stuart Whitman, Robert Vaughn, Caren Kaye, Raymond St. Jacques, Woody Strode, Sybil Danning, Albert Salmi, and Michael Gazzo. (90 minutes,'80)

The Prince and the Showgirl - Somewhat good but slow moving comedy of saucy American show gal Monroe being courted by Prince Regent of Carpathia (Olivier) throughout the'11 coronation of George V. Filmed in England, with commendable performances by Monroe and Olivier. Cast includes Marilyn Monroe, Laurence Olivier, Sybil Thorndike, Jeremy Spencer, and Richard Wattis. (117 minutes,'57)

Rhapsody in Blue - Hollywood biography of George Gershwin is largely fiction, although comes off better than most other composer biographies, seizing Gershwin's exhilaration for his work, and some of his innermost conflicts. Cast includes Robert Aida, Joan Leslie, Alexis Smith, Oscar Levant, Charles Coburn, Hazel Scott, and Al Jolson. (139 minutes,'45)

The Accidental Tourist - This movie tells the narrative of Macon Leary, who is lethargic after the death of his son. This is compounded more when his wife decides to leave him because he will not snap out of it. With a divorce around the corner he finds himself mixed up with a new woman, who is helping bring him back to life. Now his wife decides to have him back, and he is faced with more tough questions. William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Geena Davis, Amy Wright, and Bill Pullman star. (1988 Drama)

Say It Isn't So - Amiably un-ambitious Klein falls for the new hairdresser in town Graham. They have consensual sex and then Klein finds out that Graham is his sister. It is a absolute flop. Cast includes Heather Graham, Chris Klein, Orlando Jones, Sally Field, Richard Jenkins, John Rothman, Brent Briscoe, and Sarah Silverman. (96 minutes,'88)

Before you start downloading movies look at a couple of the available sites.
