Using A Green Screen And Children's Photography-3 Ways To Get paid More Wealth

By Doug Taylor

Photographing children can be a very nice business to be in. From the instant the kid is born until they are young adults the family more often than not wants photos of their children growing up. Lots of time the parents will bring in children for all kinds of special occasions. The typical pattern appears to be newborn, six-months, a year, two, three, five, ten, thirteen, and sixteen. This can go on until the children become adults. And then there are the top holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. All of these photographic opportunities and can bring in a nice income if you have a lot of regulars. Using a green screen can help you attain those patrons.

But wouldn't it be good if there was a technique to raise the quantity of sales, particularly during the initial infancy years where the child's moms and dads may not normally bring them in for their portraits? Within of this piece of writing you will uncover not one, not two, but three fantastic ways you can get paid more money by using a green screen with the same consumers - and it will not cost you much at all to apply them all.

The first thought is a creative use of a question all children get asked sometime during their childhood: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" This question more often than not leads to the normal answers of doctor, firefighter, policeman, astronaut, and cowboy or cowgirl. Adults like to ask this question as a way to encourage a child to dream of an exciting future for themselves, but wouldn't it be neat to have a photo of the youngster dressed up as their favored profession?

Here's a quick explanation on how to do this: First, to make sure you don't have to construct sophisticated sets or print up some location backdrops, set up a green screen that you will take the child's photograph in front of. Next, have the child dress up like their dream job would have them look - if feasible, help the parents by having cheap props like a fireman's helmet, a cowboy hat, and a doctors mask with plastic stethoscope. Take the photograph then use simple chroma key software to place them in the appropriate background.

A different way to use green screen and offer unique photography services is to use the "show off tactic". You need to get the parents to bring in something the children have accomplished that is something to be proud of. For instance, if they have drawn or painted something they should be proud off, create a digital background where it looks like it is on exhibit in an art gallery. Then, take the child's portrait as if they're standing proudly next to their own exhibit. In the green screen software place them leaning over a baseball or football (or any other sports item that fits).

Last but not least do not forget to use themes to your advantage. For instance, find out what the child's favorite book is that they read and loved. Do some research and figure out a way to place them inside the books settings. If the book is something like one of the action books try placing them in the jungle or in the middle of a cattle farm. For something like the Harry Potter books try putting them in front of an old English cottage. If you put your mind to work and make use of your imagination you will find there is no limit in the places you can put your patrons when you are using a green screen.
